The Huskies scored two goals in either half, including a penalty in the first two minutes of the second half, and the Falcons recorded a pair of shots on target late in the second half, courtesy of long attempts from distance from

Coach Juan Almonte was named the head women's soccer coach at Lackawanna College in July 2025, and he will be entering his second season in charge for the fall 2026 campaign. Coach Almonte came to Lackawanna after stints as a volunteer coach with both East Stroudsburg and Marywood University. Before that, he was a head coach with East Stroudsburg South HS for two seasons.
In his inaugural season, Almonte and his Falcons battled injuries and a shortage of players to still compete in ten matches, winning a road contest at PSU Scranton for the highlight of the season. Despite the lack of on-field success, Almonte helped coach
Melanie Shumway to her second-straight All-Region XIX selection, pacing the Lackawanna College offensive attack.
The Marauders
Millersville (6-3-3) beat the Falcons in the first match-up earlier this season, 2-0, back on September 12
th. You can read the full recap

Millersville enters the weekend after a disappointing 4-0 loss to West Chester this past Wednesday at home. The Marauders entered that game unbeaten through three matches, including a draw with Kutztown on the road and a 5-0 win at home against Mansfield, but WCU stunned Millersville with four goals in the first 40 minutes, then coasted to the win from there. West Chester outshot Millersville, 8-6, and all four shots on target were scored for the Rams. Millersville had a 5-1 shot advantage in the second half, but only two were on target. The Marauders had all four corner kicks in the second half.
Millersville has scored 25 goals as a team this season, while allowing ten. The Marauders average just over two goals per game, and they have recorded 204 shots, 100 on target (.490), while allowing 85 shots and 39 on frame (.459). Millersville has 73 corners to just 34 for its opponents. The Marauders have forced 75 saves from the opposition this season, while recording 29 of their own.
Senior forward Aubrey Strohecker, a first-team All-PSAC East selection who led last year's team with 13 goals, is leading the entire nation, let alone the team, with 15 goals. Strohecker is three goals away from the single-season record for goals by a Marauder, set by Susan Kerr (18) in 2003. Strohecker's 2026 includes two hattricks (vs. Lock Haven on 8/27; at Mansfield on 9/5) and two games with two goals, including the game against Lackawanna on September 12
th. She had a three-game streak where she scored at least a goal snapped against West Chester on Wednesday, recording one shot in the loss.

th, and recorded two shots, neither on frame, against West Chester on Wednesday.
Sophomore forward Ashlyn Calabria leads the Marauders with four assists this season, and has also scored two goals this season. Calabria started the year strong, recording two goals and three assists in her first five games, which included a goal and an assist against Lock Haven on August 27
th, but she has recorded just one assist in the subsequent seven games. Calabria had three shots, one on target, in the win against Lackawanna on September 12
th. She had one shot off-target against West Chester on Wednesday.
First-year keeper Megan Taltavull is the main shot-stopper for Millersville, posting 29 saves this season for the Marauders in all 12 games. She has given up ten goals, a 0.90 goals against average this season, and has four clean sheets on the year. She had a season-best six saves in the 1-0 loss to Shepherd back on September 23
rd. Taltavull had one save against the Falcons in the 2-0 win on September 12
th. She faced eight shots, but the four on-target went in against West Chester on Wednesday. She hasn't recorded a save in her last two games, but Taltavull had five saves in the 1-1 draw with Kutztown on September 30
th.
The head coach for Millersville is Matt Procopio, now in his eleventh season in charge of the Marauders and his tenth year of competition. A year ago, Procopio and the Marauders won nine games, qualified for the PSAC playoffs, and made a run to the PSAC semi-finals, falling to Kutztown. It was the farthest that the Marauders have gone since making the championship game in 2021. Procopio's best season came in 2019, where the Marauders finished with 15 wins and made the NCAA tournament. Millersville has twice made the national tournament under Procopio, making the big dance in 2018. He has 81 wins in his career at Millersville. Procopio is a Millersville alum, playing for the Marauders' men's team from 2005 to 2008 and helped the squad to a PSAC East title, an Atlantic Regional championship, and a #6 national ranking, while also getting All-America honorable mention status as a senior. Procopio spent years working at various soccer clubs across the country before coming back to Millersville in 2012 to work as an assistant with the women's team. After two years with the Marauders, he moved on to Tiffin to assist the men's squad in 2014, before coming back to lead Millersville in 2015.
