FAN CODE OF CONDUCT

Lackawanna College is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and spirited environment for all fans attending athletic events. This Fan Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior to ensure a positive experience for everyone.

Expectations for All Fans

All spectators are expected to:

  • Refrain from using obscene, abusive, or threatening language, gestures, or behavior.
  • Show respect to fellow fans, student-athletes, coaches, officials, and staff.
  • Follow all instructions from athletics department personnel and event staff.
  • Remain off the playing surface, team bench areas, and other restricted zones at all times—including after the game.
  • Comply with all posted signage and facility rules.

Prohibited Items & Behaviors

To maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, the following are not permitted inside any Lackawanna College athletic venue:

  • Animals (except service animals)
  • Glass bottles or containers
  • Firearms, fireworks, or weapons of any kind
  • Illegal substances
  • Laser pointers
  • Artificial noisemakers
  • Signs or flags on poles or sticks
  • Smoking or tobacco products
  • Throwing objects
  • Any item or behavior deemed unsafe or inappropriate by event staff

Ticketing and Event Admission Policy

Admission to any Lackawanna College Athletics event by ticket, pass, credential, or other means constitutes a revocable license that may be withdrawn at any time by Lackawanna College. As a condition of admission, all spectators are required to comply with the Lackawanna College Athletics Spectator Code of Conduct, College policies, venue regulations, and the instructions of event staff, game management personnel, security personnel, and law enforcement officials.

Lackawanna College reserves the right to deny admission, remove, or revoke the ticketing privileges of any individual whose conduct is deemed disruptive, disorderly, threatening, abusive, unsafe, illegal, or inconsistent with the principles of sportsmanship and respect expected at intercollegiate athletic events. No refund will be provided for any spectator removed or denied admission as a result of such conduct.

By attending a Lackawanna College Athletics event, spectators voluntarily assume all risks and dangers incidental to attendance, including, but not limited to, risks arising from athletic competition, balls, equipment, participant actions, crowd activity, weather conditions, and other foreseeable or unforeseeable hazards associated with the event.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ticket holders and spectators agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Lackawanna College, its trustees, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, athletic conferences, participating institutions, and event personnel from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from or related to attendance at the event, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the released parties.

Attendance at a Lackawanna College Athletics event constitutes acceptance of and agreement to comply with this policy and all provisions of the Spectator Code of Conduct.

Enforcement

Event staff will actively enforce this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in:

  • Ejection from the facility
  • Suspension from future athletic events
  • Involvement of campus security or local authorities if necessary
