STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Mission

The Strength and Conditioning department strives to provide a high level of athletic preparation to maximize the potential of every student athlete. Through comprehensive, well-organized-and-managed training programs, student-athletes will develop strength, speed, power, and conditioning, all while minimizing the risk of injury.

Philosophy

The Lackawanna College Strength and Conditioning department seeks to enhance overall athletic potential, while decreasing the risk of injury by using sport-specific, research-based programming. Through the use of ground-based, multi-dimensional, and multi-joint movements, the department aims to increase strength, speed, power, agility, cardiovascular fitness, and mobility. The department also highlights the importance of proper nutrition and recovery habits for our student-athletes.

The Strength and Conditioning department will also aspire to instill skills such as discipline, tenacity, teamwork, mental toughness, accountability, and dedication. Our goal is to equip the student athlete with the tools needed to compete at the NCAA Division II level, as well prepare them for a life of physical fitness after athletics.

The Strength & Conditioning department is located inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union building on 500-520 Jefferson Avenue, Scranton, PA, 18510. You can find their offices on the first floor, inside the Falcon Performance Center.
