Welcome to the Falcon Family!

We are thrilled to welcome you into the Falcon Family. This is a checklist provided to you for what you will need moving forward. Please read through this document carefully as it is the blueprint to the beginning of your academic and athletic career. If you have any questions on this document or about the process please do not hesitate to call the athletics department with any questions you may have.

Step 1: Complete Admissions

Submit your free online application
Meet with your enrollment counselor to review your program and enrollment steps.
Send official transcripts:
- High school transcript (must include graduation date and signature).
- All college transcripts (request through Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse).
  - Mail to:
    Lackawanna College
    Attn: Admissions
    501 Vine St., Scranton, PA 18509
Placement Testing: SAT/ACT optional. If required, schedule Accuplacer [Assessment Info ].

Step 2: NCAA Eligibility

Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center
Submit official transcripts and standardized test scores to NCAA Eligibility Center.
Complete all amateurism and academic certification requirements.
Important: You cannot participate in athletics until NCAA clearance is confirmed.

Step 3: Complete Financial Aid

File FAFSA (School Code: 003283)
- Deadline: PA residents by May 1
Complete verification if needed
Contact Student Financial Services: (570) 961-7859

Step 4: Pay Commitment Fee

Pay Commuter Fee | Pay Resident Fee
OR call (570) 961-7898
After payment: Activate Falcons Account, register for orientation, complete housing paperwork.
After payment:
- Receive Welcome Email to complete Steps 5-8

Step 5: Activate Your Falcons Account

Follow instructions in your Welcome Email or click here.

Step 6: Orientation & Events

Academic Orientation: Required for all new students. Sign up early for best course options.
Falcon Fest: Official Welcome Event at semester start. Sign up here!

Step 7: Housing

Complete Residence Hall Packet
Submit health forms via MedProctor. | PLEASE NOTE: athletic physical forms can be used for Residence Life physical forms

Step 7: Athletic Clearance

Complete Sports Medicine Pre-Participation Forms
All paperwork is required to be submitted and received by the Athletic Training Staff no later than August 1. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE WITHOUT YOUR COMPLETED PAPERWORK, PHYSICAL, AND INSURANCE INFORMATION!

Financial Aid Quick Guide

Important Deadlines

Federal FAFSA deadline: June 30, 2026, is the last day to submit the FAFSA for federal aid.
PA State Grant deadline: May 1, 2026, is the deadline for first-time college students at four-year PA schools to be considered for the PA State Grant.
PA State Grant deadline for 2-year/technical colleges: August 1, 2026, is the deadline for eligibility at these types of institutions.
Filing the FAFSA: The 2026–27 FAFSA became available in September 2025. It is crucial to file as early as possible, especially for state aid, which may be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
