NEWARK, NJ – Six players scored in double-figures as Essex County College knocked off Lackawanna College women's basketball in Jersey on Tuesday night, 86-34, in a Region XIX Division II contest.

The Falcons (7-19, 1-13) struggled to score throughout the night, scoring just eight points in three of the four quarters, while the Wolverines (15-7, 7-6) scored 23 or more points in second, third, and fourth quarters.

Essex put six players in double-figures, with Natalie Fonseca leading the way at 17 points. Katherine Avecillas added 15 points, while Aniya Brown added 13 points, Gabrielle Brown put up 12, and both Michelle Hernandez and Kayley Lynch added ten points, apiece.

Lackawanna was led by
Sophia Summa (Dunmore, PA), who scored 14 points, while
Alania Ortiz (Allentown, PA) added seven points, and
Canyah Randle (Scranton, PA) put up six points.

The Falcons are back to action on Thursday, February 19
th, with their Sophomore Day contest against Monroe University. Tip is set for 5:00pm ET inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium, and the game is the first of a doubleheader, with the men's teams playing afterwards at 7:00pm ET.
