About The Falcons
The Falcons (5-5) were last in action on Tuesday, when they took the NJCAA DIII #4 Monroe College Bronx Express all the way to the wire. Lackawanna College squandered a 13-point lead, regained control and held a three-point lead with ten seconds remaining, only for the Express to hit a game-tying three-pointer, then get a steal and score the game-winning lay-up as time expired to win 63-61, denying the Falcons a massive upset in stunning fashion. Lackawanna College was led by
Gabrielle Jackson and
Ny Jackson, who scored 14 and 13 points, respectively. The Falcons shot 30% for the game, and outscored the Express 25-to-12 off the bench. Monroe shot 34% for the game, but went 14-for-19 from the free throw line, shooting almost 30 percentage points better than their season average.
Â
Nya Morris, one of the usual starters who has missed the last two games, is the team-leader at 20.7 points per game so far this year. Her 37 points against CCBC-Catonsville was her season-high, and she did it while going 12-for-13 from the free throw line, and hitting 11 field goals in the contest.
