NEWARK, De. – The Lackawanna College Falcons women's basketball grabbed an early lead and never looked back, scoring 28 points in the first quarter en route to a 98-70 road win against Delaware Tech Community College on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons (2-3) hit four three-pointers in the first quarter, building a 28-14 lead.
Gabrielle Jackson had eight points in the opening frame, 16 in the first half, and a team-high 21 points to lead Lackawanna College. In all, the Falcons had five players score in double-figures, as the Lackawanna College defense swarmed, forcing turnovers and bad shots, and scored in transition against the Terry Hawks (6-5).

Lackawanna College grabbed an early lead, and, thanks to a pair of triples from Jackson, and a three from Ashante Amos, they built a 22-9 lead with three minutes remaining in the period. From there, the Falcons continued to hit their shots into the second quarter, grabbing rebounds off of Delaware Tech misses and getting out in transition. Jackson was able to score multiple times in transition, while
Mahogony Collins had six of her ten points come in the second frame, helping the Falcons build a 54-34 halftime advantage.

It was much more of the same in the second half, as the Falcons kept the lead above 20, ballooning to as many as 29 at several points in the half.
Daeja Cromartie, who had a season-high 18 points, scored ten in the third quarter, as the Falcon defense continued to feed the pace of the offense.
Nya Morris would score eleven of her 17 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Falcons keep the pedal to the floor and securing their second victory of the season.

Lackawanna College is home in their next game on Tuesday, December 7
th, when they host Raritan Valley Community College at the Lackawanna Student Union, as part of a doubleheader with the men's squad. The women's game is set for a 5:00pm tip, and will be a part of a Christmas celebration in the final home doubleheader of the fall 2021 semester. Tickets will be on-sale at the door for $5 (adults) and $3 (students), while Lackawanna College students get in for free with their student ID.
