In a tough outing for Lackawanna College, the Falcons fell 8–0 to Mercer County Community College in NJCAA Region XIX Division II action.

The Vikings opened the scoring just 7:30 into the match and maintained pressure throughout. Lackawanna responded with a strong defensive stretch over the next 15 minutes and nearly equalized with two solid chances from Melanie Shumway—a 35-yard direct kick that was tipped by the keeper and a rebound attempt that was also saved.

Mercer added their second goal with 20 minutes left in the first half and struck again just 40 seconds before halftime to take a 3–0 lead into the break.

The second half began with a burst from the Vikings, who netted two goals in the first 45 seconds. They closed out the match with three more goals in the final 15 minutes.

Despite the scoreline, Elizabeth Deprimo stood out in goal for Lackawanna, recording 13 saves in a valiant effort.
