DUNMORE, Pa. – The Falcons fought hard into the second half, but the numbers game eventually caught up to Lackawanna College, as the Falcons women's soccer team lost 2-0 at home to Essex County College in Region XIX DII play on Saturday afternoon at Schautz Stadium.

The Falcons (1-8-0, 0-6-0) and kept things close through the first 45 minutes. However, because of injuries, the Falcons were forced to start the second half down to nine players, and the visitors were able to pile the pressure on.

Eventually, Essex (3-7-1, 2-3-1) found the breakthrough in the 58
th minute, when a corner kick was deflected in off a Lackawanna head into the goal, giving the Wolverines the lead. They'd add a second 17 minutes later in the 75
th on a shot out from the top of the box.

Lackawanna College got 13 saves from
Elizabeth DePrimo (Dunmore, PA).
Melanie Shumway (Rome, PA) had three shots on target, while
Lilyan Prussia (Moscow, PA) and
Peyton Butz (Pottsville, PA) each added a shot on frame. Essex had nine corners to none for Lackawanna.

The Falcons are back to action on Tuesday, October 21
st, with an away contest at Hagerstown CC in non-region play. Kickoff is set for 2:00pm ET in Maryland.
