ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Lackawanna College Women's Soccer team saved their best performance for last, getting their first win of the season in a 3-0 victory over SUNY Ulster County on Sunday afternoon.

The Falcons (1-9-0) controlled the game from start to finish against the Senators (3-5-0), and opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes.
Rachel Apsley played
Aliyah Shade through with a pass, and Shade used her speed to get around the defender and win her one-on-one with the Ulster keeper to score and put the Falcons up 1-0 in the ninth minute.

Lackawanna College would hold that lead into halftime and through most of the second half before finding their second goal. After an Ulster foul gave the Falcons a free kick from 20-yards out, Apsley smashed a shot off the far post and in, her team-high sixth goal of the year and the second of the game for Lackawanna College in the 73
rd minute.

Nine minutes later, in the 82
nd minute, Lackawanna College would get their third after a deflection in the box from Ulster was seized on by
Ashley Bruno, who scored to give the Falcons the 3-0 lead. It was Bruno's fifth goal of the season.

Sophia Andreoli had six saves to earn her first clean sheet of the season in her final game.

With the win, the Falcons give
Megan Tweedy her first win as a head coach for Lackawanna College.
