BINGHAMTON, NY – The Lackawanna College Women's Soccer team fell behind early and never recovered against the SUNY Broome CC Hornets, in an 8-2 loss on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons (0-9-0) gave up six first half goals to the Hornets (7-3-0), who hit the front and never looked back. Broome had 15 shots on target, forcing seven saves from Lackawanna goalkeeper
Emily Cherubini in the contest.

The Falcons managed to provide some resistance with some offensive pressure, finishing with 14 shots on the day.
Ashley Bruno scored in the 79
th minute when
Aliyah Shade found her open in the box. Bruno fired it home, scoring her fourth goal of the year.

Eight minutes later, in the 87
th minute, Lackawanna would find the net again, when
Rachel Apsley scored her team-high fifth goal of the year when
Lexi Livelsberger sent a corner kick into the box. Apsley scored when her shot took a deflection on its way to the net.

Lackawanna College has just one game remaining on its regular season schedule, and that will happen on Sunday, October 17
th at 1:00pm when they travel to take on SUNY Ulster County. The game will happen at Bard College, in nearby Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.
