SCRANTON, Pa. -- The seventeenth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2025-2026 school year is Lackawanna College men's basketball student-athlete, Sophia Summa (Dunmore, PA)!

Sophia had a really strong three-game run last week, scoring a combined 50 points and posting 25 rebounds to help the Falcons go 2-1 last week. She had 17 points, ten rebounds, and six assists to knock off Morris on the road on Tuesday, then posted 20 points and nine rebounds, along with a season-high seven steals, against SUNY Orange on Thursday. She had 13 points and six rebounds in the loss to Salem on Saturday. Sophia shot 31% from the floor and hit seven three-pointers last week. She leads the team with 13.1 points per game in her 18 games. She shoots 34% from the floor and leads Lackawanna with a 31.5% performance from downtown, hitting a team-high 29 three-pointers. she averages 5.4 rebounds and leads the team with 70 assists on the year, while posting 38 steals this season, second on the team. This is Sophia's second AOTW award this season.

The women's basketball squad is back to action on Tuesday, January 27th, with a home contest against D2 #11 Union College in region play. Tip is set for 5:00pm ET inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium.
