Scranton, PA - Making its 2021 home debut, the Lackawanna College softball team split its doubleheader against Rowan College of South Jersey – Gloucester. The Falcons lost the opener 9-6 and rebounded to take the nightcap 12-3.
In the opener the Falcons took a 6-5 lead after three innings. However, their pitching could not hold the lead. RCSJ then scored two in the fourth and two in the seventh while Lackawanna failed to score for the remainder of the game giving the Roadrunners the win.
Lackawanna lost while out-hitting RCSJ 14 to 12. Three Falcons contributed nine of those hits. 
Makenzie Rose went four for five with a run scored and an RBI. Three of her hits were singles while the fourth was a two-bagger. The other multi-hit players were 
Kamden Miller (4-1-3-1) and 
Gianna Telesco (5-0-2-1). 
Camryn Domiano had Lackawanna's only other extra-base hit, a triple in the second.
Tess Ruschman suffered the loss.
Lackawanna took an early lead in the nightcap scoring four runs in the first three innings. Gloucester tightened the game with a three-run rally in the fourth but did not score again. The Falcons answered that rally with a four-run inning of their own in both the fourth and fifth inning.
Kamden Miller led the team in hitting with three doubles in five at-bats and five runs batted in. She was one of five players to record extra-base hits. 
Gabrielle Vuocolo and 
Camryn Domiano doubled, 
Makenzie Rose Tripled and 
Madison McVicar homered.
Four Falcons had multi-hit games, Vuocolo (4-3-3-0, 2B), Rose (3-3-2-2, 3B), Miller (4-2-3-5, three 2Bs) and McVicar (3-2-3, HR).
Meghan Fritz received credit for the victory. She surrendered three runs on five hits over five innings and striking out four.
