BRANCHBURG, NJ – Raritan used a strong defensive first quarter to take a commanding lead and never let it go, knocking off Lackawanna College women's basketball on Tuesday evening, 69-47, in a Region XIX Division II contest in New Jersey.

The Falcons (7-14, 1-10) scored just two points in the first quarter and were behind 29-10 at halftime, struggling to get the offense on track. Meanwhile, the Lions (8-14, 4-7) built their lead and then scored 23 points in the third quarter, nearly matching their entire first half output.

Lackawanna was led by
Sophia Summa (Dunmore, PA), who scored 24 points, 21 of which came in the second half.
Canyah Randle (Scranton, PA) scored 15 points for the Falcons.

Lackawanna will be back to action on Saturday, February 7
th, when the Falcons travel to Bryn Mawr, PA to take on nationally ranked Harcum College. The Falcons and the #3 Bears are set for a 1:00pm ET start.
