Lackawanna is led by veteran leader Mark Ross, who was named as the next head football coach at Lackawanna College, the third in program history, in December 2025. Ross has been coaching since pursuing his master's degree at East Stroudsburg in the 1990's, going from coaching defensive ends with the Warriors to working at Ithaca for eleven seasons at the Division III level, becoming Defensive Coordinator for his final four seasons with the Bombers. Ross then moved on to Misericordia University, where he became a head coach for the brand-new program in 2011. He spent nine seasons as the head coach at Misericordia, winning eight games and getting the Cougars to a postseason bowl for the first time in history in 2018. When the COVID-19 pandemic took out the 2020 season, Ross left Misericordia to be the defensive coordinator at Bloomsburg for three seasons in the PSAC. After that, he went to Cornell to serve as Director of Football Operations for a year with the Big Red, and then eventually made his way to Lackawanna.

The Marauders
Millersville (0-8) comes in without a win this season, but has come close several times, with four of their eight losses coming by one score. The Marauders lost to Glenville State by three in the opener, to West Chester by a point on September 26th, to Shippensburg by eight on October 10th, and to Bloomsburg by six on October 24th.

Last weekend's loss to Bloom was of particular frustration, as the Marauders had two potential drives to tie or take the lead, and couldn't take advantage of either. A long pass of 50+ yards set up Millersville inside the Bloomsburg 30 with time enough for two pass plays, but both shots at the end zone went by the boards and Millersville was denied the upset on the road.

The Marauders average just under 15 points per game this season, while allowing 35.8 points per contest to their opponents. Millersville averages 264 yards per game on offense, rushing for about 92 yards per game and throwing for 172 yards per contest this year, and the defense gives up around 447 yards per contest, including 264 through the air and 183 on the ground. The Marauders convert 38.6% of their third downs, while their opponents convert at a 43.7% clip. Millersville has ten turnovers, while forcing nine takeaways.

Senior QB Ryan Zeltt leads the team with 617 yards passing and three touchdowns. He has played on-and-off for five games this season. Sophomore Eddie Corkery has thrown for 341 yards and three touchdowns this season, while junior Tommy Hunsicker has thrown for 313 yards and two touchdowns this year. Both quarterbacks saw time against Bloomsburg, with Hunsicker throwing for 118 yards, a touchdown, and a pick, while Corkery threw the final pass of the game.

Junior running back Mekhi Ashby has 127 carries for 498 yards this season, averaging 3.9 yards per carry and two touchdowns. Ashby ran 21 times for 60 yards against Bloomsburg. Hunsicker is second on the team with 137 yards rushing on 37 carries, with two touchdowns. Hunsicker ran for a net of nine yards on ten carries against Bloomsburg. Sophomore Xavier Kingcade has 32 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown. Kingcade has missed the last two games.

Senior wideout Nakhi Bullock has 21 catches for a team-high 229 yards and two touchdowns this season. On Saturday, Bullock had two catches for 70 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown. Sophomore Caileb Howse leads the team with 23 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown. Howse had four catches for 16 yards and a one-yard touchdown against Bloomsburg. First-year wide receiver Jayden Walters has 12 catches for 223 yards, averaging 18.6 yards per catch and a team-best four touchdowns. Walters did not play against Bloomsburg. Fellow first-year Kyreek Bradshaw has nine catches for 224 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 24.9 yards per catch this season. Bradshaw had one catch, a 57-yarder that got Millersville into position late against Bloomsburg.

Senior linebacker Bryce Beutler leads the Marauders with 78 total tackles, 39 solo stops, and 4.5 tackles-for-loss. Beutler had ten tackles against Bloomsburg. Fifth-year defensive back Nick Romano is second on the squad with 45 tackles, 27 solo stops, and one TFL on the year. Romano had six solo tackles, seven total, and had a TFL against Bloomsburg. Senior linebacker Kai Stiansen also has 45 total tackles this season, with 22 solo stops and three TFLs. Stiansen has recovered two fumbles this year. Stiansen had eight total tackles against Bloom on Saturday.

Senior kicker Gryffin Mitstifer is the main placekicker, going 1-for-4 on field goals, with a long of 27-yards, and he is 11-for-13 on extra points this season. he went 2-for-2 on XPs, but had a field goal blocked against Bloomsburg.

The head coach is Drew Folmar, a Millersville Hall of Fame quarterback who graduated in 2001 and is in his first season as head coach with the Marauders. Millersville fans remember Folmar as the QB for a Millersville team that won the PSAC East and made the NCAA playoffs, and he's a Hall of Fame inductee at the 'Ville. Folmar has built an impressive resume as an offensive coordinator at a variety of stops, including most-recently at the Division I level with Bucknell, Elon, and Lehigh. Folmar was the OC under current Indiana University head coach Curt Cignetti while at Elon, turning around the Phoenix into a winner, making three-straight postseason appearances. Folmar started his coaching career as an assistant at Millersville, eventually making his way to Kutztown as the OC, where he helped the Bears win the PSAC championship in 2011. He also served as head coach with Kutztown in 2013, before moving on to become the OC at Lehigh, where he helped the Mountain Hawks average over 460 yards of offense and nearly 40 points per game, winning the Patriot League in 2016. Folmar is known for his ability to generate and scheme offense, and the hope is that he can help put the Marauders back to a place of prominence in the PSAC.

Next
Lackawanna College football still has two games remaining on its schedule, both away contests. Next Saturday, November 7th, the Falcons will travel to take on the Shepherd Rams in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:0pm ET at Rams Stadium on Shepherd's campus. The final game of the regular season has yet to be determined.

Lackawanna College was originally scheduled to play Slippery Rock on November 14th, on the road, but SRU has clinched a spot in the PSAC Championship squad. The Falcons will now face the team that was supposed to play the PSAC East representative in the final weekend. That team has yet to be determined, but could potentially be either Seton Hill (Kutztown's opponent) or Lock Haven (East Stroudsburg's opponent). Both Kutztown and ESU play this weekend, with the winner not clinching the championship berth, but certainly moving a step closer and, therefore, giving more clarity to who Lackawanna College's opponent will be on November 14th.
