FB: Lackawanna Falls To Shippensburg Offensive Onslaught

The Raiders Had Nearly 550 Yards Of Offense In A Dominant Offensive Showing

10/24/26

SCRANTON, Pa. – Visiting Shippensburg had 545 yards of total offense and averaged eight yards per play in a dominant display on Saturday afternoon, as the Raiders pounded Lackawanna College football, 59-7, at PenFed Field at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

The Falcons (0-8) had some initial success on defense, but the Raiders (3-5) quickly wore the Falcons down, rushing for 183 yards and throwing for 362 yards on 26-for-30. Shippensburg was 7-for-7 on red zone chances and 6-for-10 on third downs.

Trailing 21-0 late in the second quarter, Lackawanna College finished a ten-play drive with a beautiful 24-yard touchdown pass from David Naniewicz (Scott Twp., PA) to Keaon Jenkins (Wayne, NJ) in the left corner of the end zone, cutting into the deficit at 21-7 with 1:42 to play. However, a poor kickoff gave Shippensburg the ball at its own 45 with 1:40 to go, and, three plays later, the Raiders were in the end zone to go up 28-7 with just under a minute to go. To make matters worse, the Falcons went three-and-out on the ensuing series, punted away, and Shippensburg set up shop at the Lackawanna 42-yard line with 32 seconds remaining in the half. Three plays later, the Raiders were in the end zone again on an 11-yard pass to the back of the end zone, scoring with eight seconds on the clock to go up 35-7 at halftime and crush the spirit of Lackawanna.

Shippensburg scored quickly to open the second half, capping a nine-play drive with a five-yard run to make it 42-7. Then, on the following Lackawanna drive, the Falcons went to punt on 4th-and-16 from their own 28-yard line, when the Raiders burst through the line and blocked the punt, picking up the bouncing ball and racing to the end zone for the score to go up 49-7. They'd add another third quarter touchdown and a fourth quarter field goal to round out the scoring, while the Falcons had two drives that made it deep into Shippensburg territory stall out without points.

Naniewicz was 13-for-34 for 105 yards and one touchdown, but was sacked three times. Stephen Henry (Maplewood, NJ) ran for 77 yards on seven carries, while Jalen Fletcher (Bethlehem, PA) had 42 yards on eight carries, and Billy Maloney (Scranton, PA) carried the ball seven times for 39 yards.

Jenkins had two catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. Fletcher had five catches for 29 yards, and James Colston (Harrisburg, PA) had two catches for ten yards.

Defensively, Rashon Giddens (Norristown, PA) led the charge with nine tackles, seven solos, while both Steven Jenkins (Pittsburgh, PA) and Javian Pujals (Bethlehem, PA) each had seven solo stops. Pujals, getting his first start, had two tackles-for-loss, including a sack, while Noah Ewell (Harrisburg, PA) posted four solo tackles and a sack on the day.

The Falcons will look to next weekend, when they are set to host winless Millersville University in a battle of teams searching for their first win of the season on Saturday, October 31st. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm ET at Scranton's Memorial Stadium.
