SCRANTON, Pa. -- The fifteenth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2025-2026 school year is Lackawanna College women's wrestling student-athlete, Michelle Pastuizaca (Nanticoke, PA)!

Michelle went 4-0 this past weekend at the Alfred State Open, winning first place at 180 lbs. and helping the Falcons finish sixth at the event, despite competing with just five wrestlers. Pastuizaca won each of her bouts by fall, all within 90 seconds. In fact, her only bout that went longer than a minute was against her fellow Falcon, Hailey Schumaker, and she pinned Hailey in 1:22. Pastuizaca won first, while Schumaker was 3-1 and finished second at 180. Michelle is now 11-8 overall this season, with ten of her wins coming via fall.

Pastuizaca is a first-year student-athlete at Lackawanna College studying Criminal Justice, and she will be a guest on a future episode of Falcons Corner, airing every Wednesday at 10am ET at lackawannafalcons.com/youtube.

The women's wrestling squad is back in action on Tuesday, January 20th, with an away dual at Cedar Crest College in Allentown.
