SCRANTON, Pa. -- For the third-straight year, Lackawanna College Athletics will review the past 12 months and highlight the top 14 athletics stories and moments from the year that was.Â
Today's top event from 2025 comes to us from Lackawanna College women's volleyball, where another run of success brought some individual accolades to highlight.
#8:Â Hofmann Earns POTY, Falcons Garner All-Season Nods
For the third-straight season, Lackawanna College women's volleyball won 10+ matches and managed to compete for a Region XIX DII championship. Some excellent individual achievements came with that team accomplishment.
For the second-straight year, outside hitter
Jana Hofmann (Colorado Springs, CO) was named as the Region XIX DII Player of the Year. As a sophomore outside hitter, Hofmann was once again outstanding for the Falcons, accumulating 259 kills in 23 matches, a 3.2 kills per set average. She also finished with a .211 hitting percentage, besting last year's .180. She had 72 aces, averaging just under one ace per set, and was also above last year's numbers in digs per set (3.44) and block assists (13). Hofmann averaged 4.17 points per set this season. She set her career-high in kills with 25, achieving it twice in back-to-back matches against Brookdale CC and Harcum College. Hofmann had 13 matches with ten or more kills in 2025. She has 524 kills and 152 aces in her two seasons of junior college competition. Hofmann was a 2
nd-Team NJCAA All-American selection in 2024.
Sophomore libero
Delianie Del Bois (New Port Richey, FL) also achieve region accolades, being named to the Region XIX DII 1st Team. Del Bois posted 267 digs, second on the team, and averaged 3.38 digs per set, second behind Hofmann. Del Bois, a libero, also posted 42 assists, had nine aces, and even three kills through her 23 matches. "D" had some spectacular performances down the stretch, tying a season-high with 23 digs in the victory over Delaware Tech CC in the Region XIX DII semi-final. That was her fourth straight match with ten or more digs. Delianie has 547 digs in her two seasons, averaging 3.6 digs per set, while also posting 76 assists in two years, along with 19 aces.
On top of winning POTY in the region, Hofmann was also named as Co-POTY in the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC). Joining her on the first-team All-EPAC squad was setter
Ellania Morales (Wharton, NJ). In her first year, Morales excelled running the Lackawanna offense, leading the team with 397 assists, just shy of five assists per set in her 23 matches. She also had 25 kills, along with 48 aces, second on the team. Her 220 digs were third on the team this season.
In the last three seasons, Lackawanna College women's volleyball has won 43 matches and a Region XIX DII championship, while competing in the title match in all three years. Hofmann won back-to-back Player-of-the-Year nods in region play, and was the first-ever All-American in program history in 2024.
