SCRANTON, Pa. -- For the third-straight year, Lackawanna College Athletics will review the past 12 months and highlight the top 14 athletics stories and moments from the year that was. 

Today's top event from 2025 comes to us from the Lackawanna College Esports program and its annual ExtraLife fundraiser at Bartari in Scranton.

#10: Lackawanna College Esports Raises $7K For Charity
For the past five years, Lackawanna College Esports has gathered every November to run a charity event fundraiser, raising money for the Janet Weis Children's Hospital in Danville, PA as part of the ExtraLife fundraising program through the Children's Miracle Network. This past year was another successful event for the Esports Falcons.

Bartari was the setting, and the Esports program and its supporters gathered at the arcade-themed bar and restaurant with a bevy of raffle baskets, goodies, and fun events for participants to compete in, including a live Dungeons and Dragons campaign, a Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament, and a continuous 12-hour livestream running on the Lackawanna College Esports Twitch channel. It was a great opportunity to see the hard work and dedication that goes into the program, all while helping a great cause.

Through it all, the event raised a grand total of $7,630.86 this year, and the five-year effort has yielded nearly $35,000 raised for charity. It has turned into one of the most important events of the fall for Lackawanna College Esports and the Athletics department, and continues to grow and expand.
