SCRANTON, Pa. – Nationally ranked Union College forced 34 turnovers and never broke a sweat, as the Owls downed Lackawanna College women's basketball, 86-33, in an NJCAA Region XIX DII contest on Tuesday evening inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium.
 
The Falcons (3-5, 2-1) led after a defensive stop and a lay-up, but it was all Owls after that, as Lackawanna struggled to keep pace with a blistering Union press. Lackawanna committed 34 turnovers and was outscored 35-10 in points off those turnovers. The #4 Owls (9-0, 4-0) put five players in double-figures, had a 68-24 rebounding advantage, and had 40 more shot attempts than the Falcons did on the night.
 
Union was led by Zanaya Parsons' 17 points, while Zakiyyah Lindsey and Jada Rodgers each had seven assists and 14 and ten points, respectively. Gracie Cruz scored 12 points off the bench.
 
Lackawanna shot 25.5% from the floor and had a second quarter where the Falcons were outscored 26-2. Alania Ortiz (Allentown, PA) finished with 15 points, seven steals, and six rebounds, while Sophia Summa (Dunmore, PA) had ten points.
 
The Falcons are back in action on Tuesday, December 2^nd, when they are set to host Raritan Valley CC in a doubleheader with the men's teams. The women's game will tip at 5:00pm ET inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium.
