SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College women's soccer earned representation on the 2025 Region XIX DI/DII All-Region squad in the form of sophomore Melanie Shumway (Rome, PA), according to a release from the region last month.
 
Shumway, now a two-time All-Region selection, scored six goals in her sophomore year, which included five goals in a win at PSU Scranton. Shumway, normally a forward for the Falcons, played a lot of midfield for Lackawanna this year, constantly tracking back to defend, then helping move the ball up the field for the few opportunities at scoring that the Falcons generated this season.
 
Shumway, pursuing a degree in Surgical Tech, will finish her career as a Falcon with 14 goals in 16 games, averaging just below a goal per game.
