HAZLETON, Pa. – Lackawanna women's volleyball earned a spilt in tri-match action at Penn State Hazleton on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 3-0 decision to Penn State Mont Alto (25-17, 25-21, 25-22) before taking a five-set victory over the hosts from Hazleton, 3-2 (15-25, 25-18, 28-26, 15-25, 15-13).

The Falcons (8-2) played the two-time defending USCAA national champions from Mont Alto first. While holding their own later in the sets, the Falcons couldn't keep up with Mont Alto (4-6). Lackawanna was led by
Nadia Toth (Dalton, PA), who had eight kills and an ace.
Jana Hofmann (Colorado Springs, CO) added eight kills of her own, and
Aryana Girvan (Clarion, PA) put up six kills in the defeat.

In the final match of the night, Lackawanna took on PSU Hazleton (4-5) for the second time in two weeks. And much like that first match-up, the Falcons and the Nittany Lions served up a barnburner of a match. Girvan led the way with 20 kills and an ace, while Hofmann added 16 kills, and
Alasiah Carter (Coatesville, PA) added six kills to help the Falcons snag the win.

Lackawanna College gets back to action on Thursday, September 19
th, when the Falcons travel to take on Cairn University. The match is set for a 6:00pm ET start in Langhorne, PA.
