VALHALLA, NY – Lackawanna College baseball had an off-day on the road, giving up 14 walks, while walking the bases loaded five times, and mustering only seven hits and stranding ten base runners in a 10-4 loss on the road at SUNY Westchester on Wednesday afternoon in New York.
The Falcons (10-14) were behind 5-0 after the top of the first, despite not giving up a hit, after walking the bases loaded five straight times. Lackawanna would try to rally, courtesy of a
Louis Kegerreis (Redshirt First Year; Murrysville, PA) RBI-single and a three-run homerun from
Michael Rickert (Sophomore; Moosic, PA) in the fourth inning to cut the deficit to 5-4, but the Falcons were wasteful, stranding six batters from the fifth inning on, and Westchester (9-10) added insurance with a run in the sixth and four runs in the bottom of the eighth to snag the win.
Rickert was 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored, while
Brayden D'Amico (Sophomore; Bethlehem, PA) went 2-for-4 on the day, and Kegerreis was 2-for-5 with a run scored and the RBI.
The Falcons have a few days off before getting back to work on Saturday, March 30
th, with a road trip to Bel Air, MD to take on NJCAA Division I Harford CC. First pitch is set for 12:00pm ET for the single nine-inning contest.
