LANCASTER, Pa. – Lackawanna men's basketball opened its 2024-2025 season with solid defense and balanced scoring, as the Falcons knocked off Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology on the road, 70-59, on Saturday afternoon at Thaddeus Stevens.

The Falcons (1-0) put three players in double-figures, with guard
Shawnn Smith (Philadelphia, PA) leading the charge with 22 points, forward
Noah McIntosh (Philadelphia, PA) putting in 16, and Wilkes-Barre product
Evan Laybourn-Boddie scoring eleven points. Smith scored 14 of his 22 in the first half, and McIntosh added eleven of his 16, as the Falcons built a 38-19 lead at the half. The Bulldogs (0-1) hit five three-pointers in the second half to get their offense up-and-running, but the Falcons were never truly challenged.

Lackawanna College will now turn its attention to its home opener on Monday, November 4
th, when the Falcons are set to host their old local rivals, Penn State Scranton, for a 6:00pm ET tip-off inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium.
