The #8 Bears were in control from the start, raining three-point shots on the Falcons and ramping the speed of the game up as the night went on.
Â
The Bears (17-1) wasted no time, hitting their first four three-point attempts to race to a 12-2 lead just over two minutes in. After a Falcon timeout, the Bears continued to defend ferociously, getting out in transition and scoring, while the Falcons (4-7) did their best to withstand the full-court press. Trailing 19-2 with under 15 minutes to go,
David Pope sank a three, sparking a mini 5-0 run for the Falcons, but the Bears would quickly start answering back.
Â
The Falcons made it 37-25 after
Will Johnson sank a runner with just over seven minutes to play in the first half, but the Bears quickly sank a three, and then went to score 24 more points, ramping up the pace of the game and forcing the Falcons to play at Harcum's speed. The pressure never relented, and Harcum led 64-41 at the halftime break.
Â
The second half was more of the same, as the Harcum defensive pressure continued to mount, and the Falcons couldn't keep pace with Harcum's scorching offensive pace. The lead ballooned to 99-54 at the 10:25 mark of the second half, and kept growing from there. The game ended when
David Pope sank a three as time expired, making it 133-73 in favor of Harcum.
