Georgetown, DE -Â Friday afternoon the Lackawanna College softball team traveled to Georgetown, Delaware to play Delaware Technical Community College in the Region 19 Division II Softball best of three championship. In the first game of the series, Del-Tech beat the Falcons 11-1 in a game shortened by the eight-run rule. In the second game, Del Tech eliminated Lackawanna from the final series when they defeated the Falcons in five innings in another contest abbreviated by the eight-run rule.

In the opening game of the series Del Tech took an early lead in the second inning when they plated nine runs off the Falcons' starter,
Meghan Fritz. Lackawanna answered with a run in the top of fourth after
Madison McVicar struck a two-out double to center and scored when
Kamden Miller drove her in with a two-bagger. Del-Tech scored in the bottom of the inning to give them an 11-1 lead and a game one victory after the Falcons failed to score in the top of fifth.Â
Del Tech pitching staff held Lackawanna to three hits during the contest. All three were doubles contributed by
Makenzie Rose, McVicar and Miller. Â
Meghan Fritz suffered the loss. She ended her season with a 10-3 win/loss record.
In the second game Del-Tech scored the game's initial run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. The Falcons knotted the contest at one in the bottom of the second inning when
Madison McVicar slammed a solo homer over the left-field fence. In that same inning Lackawanna had another opportunity to score when
Kamden Miller followed McVicar's home run with a one-out triple. Unfortunately for the Falcons, they stranded Miller at third when the Del-Tech pitching staff K'd the next two Lackawanna hitters. Going into the third with the contest tied at one apiece, Del Tech's bats got hot again as they pushed seven runs across the plate. Del-Tech added a run in the fourth for the eight-run lead and the win Lackawanna failed to score in the next two innings.
Stephanie Kibbe took the loss for the Falcons. She lasted three innings, allowing eight hits and eight runs while striking out one.
Lackawanna recorded four hits in the game, McVicar's home run, Miller's triple, Miller's second hit of the game, a single, and a single by Neveah Ross.Â
With the loss, the Falcons ended the season with a win/loss record of 19-11.
