Hickory, NC - Tuesday afternoon the Lackawanna College women's basketball team fell to number two seed Lake Land in the NJCAA Women's Basketball DII Champions opening round. The Falcons lost by a 75-53 score.
The Falcons only trailed the Lakers by two after the first quarter, 13-11. However, Lackawanna had a disastrous second period as Lake Land outscored the Falcons 21-8. Lackawanna played tough the final two periods outscoring the Lakers by a point in the fourth quarter, but they could never erase that second-period deficit.
Jamiya Eaddy was the Falcons' team leader in points and rebounds with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Nya Morris also contributed a double-digit game with 11.
The loss moves Lackawanna into the consolation bracket where they play Arkansas State University Mid-South. Tip-off for that contest will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday.
