Box Score Middletown, NY – After enjoying a 3 game home stand, the Lackawanna Women's Basketball team was back on the road, as they traveled to Middletown, NY, to face the Lady Colts of Orange County Community College. The Lady Falcons are no stranger to the road and are currently 9-3 when away from the friendly confines of the Historic Student Union. They were looking to add to that win total, but Orange County was coming into the game looking for the upset.
While the Lady Colts were looking to slow Lackawanna down, the Lady Falcons quickly dashed any hopes Orange County may have had. Just like they have in the past few games, Lackawanna jumped out of the gate fast, with their "Big 4" leading the way.

Briaunna McCullough dominated the game but also were able to get the other Lady Falcons involved, as well. Loyd turned her attention to making sure she got the ball to her teammates to set up scoring opportunities. Her unselfish play helped Lackawanna take a 49-9 lead, going into the half.
The second half would be the same as the first, as the Lady Falcons continued to dominate on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Their pressure defense forced Orange County into poor decisions and Lackawanna would make them pay. The Lady Colts found themselves in turnover situations, which resulted in points for the Lady Falcons. No matter what Orange County tried, Lackawanna had an answer for it.
Keyanah Price dominated the boards, again, grabbing 5 offensive and 5 defensive rebounds, for a game high 10. As a team, the Lady Falcons would grab a total of 47 rebounds in the game. When the horn sounded, Lackawanna came away with their 10
th win away from home, by a score of 100-38.
This was the 4
th time Lackawanna has scored 100 or more points in a game this season.
Keyanah Price led all scorers with 18, followed by
Kyla Smith and
Briaunna McCullough who had 15 points apiece.
Ciaira Loyd added 9 points, but her biggest stat on the night was the 10 assists she dished out to her teammates.
Miliesha Troche, who had been sidelined earlier in the season with an injury, had one of her best games since returning to the line-up. She totaled 12 points on the night, with 2 coming from behind the 3-point line.
Kiana Williams also had another productive night on the boards, grabbing 8 total rebounds, along with 5 blocks, and
Allanah Bradford contributed with solid play by adding 8 points and 5 assists. In addition,
Daeja Cromartie took advantage of her playing time by scoring 4 points and pulling down 8 rebounds.
With the win, the Lady Falcons move to 16-3 on the season. They will return home Saturday afternoon, as they get back to Region XIX play, when they host Rowan College of Burlington County. Earlier in the season, Lackawanna defeated the Lady Barons by a score of 82-51. Saturday's game is Girl's Youth Basketball Day and the Lady Falcons with be hosting numerous Girls Youth Basketball Organizations. After the game, the players we be signing autographs for all the youth in attendance. Tip-off for Saturday's game is 12 noon.
