Scranton, PA – The Lackawanna Women's Volleyball team came into Sunday's Noon match up, with Lehigh Carbon Community College, looking to get back in the win column. The Lady Falcons wasted no time as they took the first set 25-12. Behind strong performances from freshman Ethylne Lockhart (20 Kills and 19 Digs) and sophomore Jamie Brann (5 Kills and 19 Digs) Lackawanna would take the next 2 and final sets 25-23 and 25-17, for a 3-0 victory over the Lady Cougars. This was a pivotal victory for Lackawanna, as they improved to 2-2 in Region XIX and 6-8 on the season.
Also providing strong performances were sophomore Amaya Townsend with 2 kills, 5 assists and 14 kills and freshman Faith Labad with 1 service ace, 2 solo blocks and 16 digs. Next up, the Lady Falcons travel to Wayne, PA to take on Valley Forge Military College Tuesday Oct. 8th at 6:00pm.
