Scranton, PA – Fresh off their EPAC Team Championship, the Lackawanna College Men's Cross Country team will return to action this weekend when they compete in the NJCAA Region XIX Championships in Newark, DE. The Falcons have a lot of confidence going into this weekend, after placing all 5 runners in the Top 21 at the EPAC Championships. This season Kevin Fowler has been the team leader in every race and he is peaking at the right time of the season. At the EPAC Championships, he finished a team high 3rd and Coach Eileen Sempa believes Fowler is still getting better and better. She is also looking for Benson Quiyea, Christian Krause and Miguel Salvador to have an impact at Regionals. All three have turned in strong performances this season, with Salvador finishing in the top 10 last weekend. "I am so incredibly proud of the hard work this team has done over the past month and a half"' said Head Coach Sempa. I'm sure it's not easy getting a new coach right before the season starts, but we have all been working well together and pushing each other, and I think it's showing in our races each week."
The NJCAA Region XIX Championships will be held on Saturday, October 26th beginning at 11:00am at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, DE.
