Landon Gabriel

Landon Gabriel enters his third season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the Lackawanna College Falcons in the 2022-2023 season.

In his first year in charge, Gabriel and the Falcons faced significant challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite a delayed and shortened season, coach Gabriel’s Falcons won a Region XIX title in his first year, earning Lackawanna a spot in the NJCAA East District Men’s Championship.

Coach Gabriel took over the Falcon program in 2020, after spending 13 seasons as the head boys basketball coach at Carbondale Area High School in Northeast PA. While at Carbondale Area, Gabriel and the Chargers competed in the rugged LIAA Basketball Division III, and appeared in multiple PIAA District 2 tournaments.

Before joining the coaching ranks, Gabriel was a member of the King’s College Monarchs from 2001 through 2005. While at King’s, Gabriel scored 434 career points in 94 appearances, including 33 starts. In his senior season in 2004-2005, Gabriel started all 30 games for the Monarchs, who went 24-6, won the MAC Freedom Conference Championship, and went to the NCAA Division III Elite Eight.

Landon Gabriel is a Northeast PA native, and a 2001 graduate of Carbondale Area HS, where he was a three-year standout on the Chargers basketball team.
