Mike Rickert serves as Lackawanna College's Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach, providing leadership and oversight for the College's strength and conditioning program, athletic performance facilities, and student-athlete development initiatives. He is responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising strength, conditioning, speed, agility, and recovery programs for all athletic teams while working closely with coaches and athletic training staff to support student-athlete performance, wellness, and injury prevention. As the department's lead authority for athletic performance programming, Rickert reviews, approves, and oversees all team workout plans to ensure they align with institutional standards, safety protocols, and performance objectives.
Rickert joined the Lackawanna College Athletics staff in 2016 and has worked with student-athletes across every sport at the institution ever since. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), as well as a certified weightlifting coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW). A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Rickert earned a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education from Marywood University with minors in Coaching and Sports Nutrition and later completed a master's degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning from Concordia University. A former collegiate baseball student-athlete at Marywood and graduate of Bishop Hannan High School, Rickert remains committed to helping Falcons maximize their athletic potential while fostering a culture of discipline, accountability, and excellence.
