SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College football will take the road in the PSAC for the first time this coming weekend, as the Falcons get set to travel to East Stroudsburg University on Saturday, September 26^th, for a night contest in East Stroudsburg. The game is set for a 6:35pm ET kickoff at Gregory-Douds Field at Eiler-Martin Stadium, and the contest will be the first-ever match-up between the Falcons and the Warriors.

The Falcons
The Falcons (0-3) moved the ball, but were sloppy on finishing drives, committing five turnovers and allowing Clarion to get nearly 500 yards of offense in a 59-13 loss last Saturday. The Falcons were 2-for-7 on fourth downs, getting their two conversions on their opening drive, and they threw four interceptions, two deep in Clarion territory. Meanwhile, the visiting Golden Eagles ran for 200 yards and were 5-for-8 on third downs, blazing up and down the field in the loss for the Falcons. You can read the full recap HERE.
 
On the season, Lackawanna is averaging 11.7 points per game, while giving up 33 per contest this year. Opponents averaging 337 yards per game in offense, including 137 on the ground and 200 through the air, while the Falcons are averaging 259 yards of total offense per game, posting 113 per game on the ground and 146 per game through the air. The Falcons are 31.7% on third downs, while their opponents are 36.1%. Lackawanna has thrown eight interceptions and has lost one fumble, while the opposition has one interception and a pair of fumbles this year.
 
Quarterbacks David Naniewicz (Scott Twp., PA) and Laivon Balthazar (Perth Amboy, NJ) have both seen time this year, with Naniewicz starting the last two games. Naniewicz, a first-year player, is 29-for-57 for 305 yards, two touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He's also run 20 times, gaining 57 yards but losing 41 on the year, getting sacked four times against Clarion. Balthazar, a second-year player, started against Monroe and played against Seton Hill, going 15-for-25 for 133 yards in his two games, with one interception. He has 37 net yards rushing on 20 attempts this year.
 
Third-year back Jalen Fletcher (Bethlehem, PA) has 166 yards on 39 carries and has scored a pair of touchdowns. He ran for a season-best 108 yards last week against Clarion. Second-year back Daniel McConomy (Middletown, DE) has 21 carries for 79 yards this season, posting 64 yards and catching a pair of balls against Seton Hill.
 
Third-year receiver Keaon Jenkins (Wayne, NJ) leads the Falcons with ten catches for 161 yards this season, posting 103 yards on five catches against Monroe. He had four catches for 50 yards and a touchdown against Clarion last weekend. Third-year receiver Jamal Jefferson, Jr. (Euclid, OH) has eight catches for 107 yards and a touchdown this year. Jefferson had a season-best five catches for 77 yards and his touchdown against Clarion last weekend. Khi'Lee Patterson (Fox Chapel, PA) is a second-year receiver who has nine catches for 82 yards for the Falcons this year. Fletcher also has nine grabs, for 41 yards.
 
Defensively, second-year linebacker Brodie Daugherty (Manheim, PA) leads the team with ten solo tackles and 20 total stops this year, posting 2.0 TFLs and one sack this year. Daugherty had seven solo stops against Monroe earlier this season. Fellow linebacker Rashon Giddens (Norristown, PA) has 16 total stops, on seven solo tackles and nine assists, and he leads the team with 3.5 TFLs and a sack, while also recovering a pair of fumbles, including one on a blocked kick that he returned for a touchdown against Monroe. He did not play against Clarion last weekend. First-year linebacker Noah Ewell (Harrisburg, PA) has eleven tackles this season, with six coming solo. Ewell had a breakout game against Seton Hill, posting six tackles.
 
First-year safety Steven Jenkins (Pittsburgh, PA) has eleven total tackles, including five solo stops, and two TFLs on the year, posting six tackles and his two TFLs against Clarion last weekend. Third-year safety Jahmeil Brown (Perth Amboy, NJ) has nine total stops, with four solo tackles and an interception on the year. Second-year defensive end Savion Travis-Dukes (Trenton, NJ) has four solo tackles and three assists, along with 2.5 sacks and a blocked FG this season.
 
Second-year kicker Isiah Rodriguez (Old Forge, PA) is 1-for-1 on field goals this year, hitting a 26-yarder against Seton Hill, and is 2-for-3 on extra points. Second-year punter Samuel Magnotta (Roaring Brook Twp., PA) averages 36.9 yards per punt and has a long of 51 yards this season, with three punts placed inside the opponents' 20-yard line this season.
 
Lackawanna is led by veteran leader Mark Ross, who was named as the next head football coach at Lackawanna College, the third in program history, in December 2025. Ross has been coaching since pursuing his master's degree at East Stroudsburg in the 1990's, going from coaching defensive ends with the Warriors to working at Ithaca for eleven seasons at the Division III level, becoming Defensive Coordinator for his final four seasons with the Bombers. Ross then moved on to Misericordia University, where he became a head coach for the brand-new program in 2011. He spent nine seasons as the head coach at Misericordia, winning eight games and getting the Cougars to a postseason bowl for the first time in history in 2018. When the COVID-19 pandemic took out the 2020 season, Ross left Misericordia to be the defensive coordinator at Bloomsburg for three seasons in the PSAC. After that, he went to Cornell to serve as Director of Football Operations for a year with the Big Red, and then eventually made his way to Lackawanna.
 
 
The Warriors
East Stroudsburg has not played since falling 59-35 to Slippery Rock back on September 12^th. The Warriors were in a shootout, early, but the Rock eventually scored 28 unanswered through the middle parts of the contest to blow things open. ESU put up 458 yards of offense, including 241 on the ground, but SRU had nearly 600 yards of total offense and averaged 8.4 yards per rush in the victory.
 
Through their first three games this year, the Warriors are averaging 33 points per game, while giving up 35 points per contest to their opponents. East Stroudsburg averages 400 yards per game on offense, with 250 yards per game on the ground and 150 through the air. Their opponents average 435 yards of offense this year, throwing for 245 per game and 190 yards on the ground this year. ESU is 50% on third downs this year, while their opponents convert at an even-higher 55.3% clip. East Stroudsburg has thrown one interception, but hasn't lost a fumble this year, while recovering two fumbles and picking off two passes on the year.
 
Senior quarterback Harrison Susi is the starter for the Warriors, a dual threat who can churn out yards on the ground, while remaining lethal in the passing game. Susi is 30-for-51 for 447 yards and three touchdowns, to go with one pick, and he averages 14.9 yards per completion. Susi is also the top rusher for the Warriors this year, running a team-high 46 times for 214 yards and one touchdown, averaging 71 yards on the ground per game. Susi scored ten touchdowns on the ground last year, a school-record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in one season, and set the program mark with 711 yards rushing for a QB last year. He was a scholar athlete in the PSAC a year ago, and made the CSC Academic All-District squad in 2025.
 
Senior Ajani Walker, junior Cade Sawyer, and fifth-year Deante Crawford are the main backs, aside from Susi. Walker has 205 yards on 28 carries, averaging 7.3 yards per carry and scoring one touchdown. Sawyer averages nearly eleven yards per rush, going for 174 yards on just 16 carries, scoring three touchdowns this year. He had 99 yards and two TDs against Pace. Crawford has 171 yards on 33 carries, scoring four touchdowns for the Warriors this season.
 
Fifth-year wideout Elijah Ford leads the Warriors with six catches and 160 yards receiving this year, averaging 26.7 yards per reception and hauling in one touchdown. Ford had 87 yards and a touchdown against Pace. Junior receiver Joey Wilkinson has five catches, second on the team, hauling in 46 yards receiving this season. Senior wideout Cam Burti has four catches for 54 yards and a touchdown, which came against Seton Hill in the opener. Sophomore Jalen Cook has three catches and 99 yards, going for 79 yards on one catch, a touchdown, against Slippery Rock.
 
Senior defensive lineman Ashton Blose has 24 total tackles this season, with eight solo stops and 16 assists, while also posting 2.5 TFLs and one sack this year. Junior linebacker Camerin Gross has 24 total tackles, with nine solo stops and 2.0 TFLs, to go with 2 forced fumbles. Gross had 13 total tackles and those two forced fumbles in the win against Pace. Everette Dingle leads the Warriors with 14 solo tackles, and he has 20 total stops on the year. Harold Hill IV is a junior defensive back with four pass break-ups this season. He had eight tackles against Slippery Rock, a team-best, and he has 12 total stops this season.
 
Senior Ty Quintois is the kicker, and he's 5-for-7 on the season, with a long of 55 yards. He's also 12-for-12 on extra points, racking up 27 points this season. Quintois was 0-for-2 on field goals against Slippery Rock two weeks ago. He has split kickoffs with sophomore Parker Johnson, but Johnson kicked off against Slippery Rock, posting three touchbacks against the Rock and averaging 65 yards per kick this season. Punter Adam Noll is a senior, averaging 42 yards per kick, with three punts inside the 20-yard line and two punts of 50+ yards.
 
The head coach is Jimmy Terwilliger, now in his seventh season in charge of the Warriors. Terwilliger is a legend on the Division II scene, an All-American in his time at ESU from 2003 through 2006, leaving the Warriors program with 18 NCAA Division II records and two NCAA all-division records. Terwilliger led a historic ESU offense, throwing 148 passing touchdowns in his career, tying the all-division record for career TD passes, while setting Division II records for total offense in a career (16,064 yards) passing yards (14,350), pass efficiency (170.7), touchdowns responsible for (161), and points responsible for (966). Terwilliger was a three-time All-American, a two-time AP Little All-America second team selection, and a three-time PSAC East Division Offensive POTY. After his storied career at ESU, where he earned a bachelor's in Health and Physical Education, Terwilliger got into coaching at the high school level in PA, before joining the Warriors as a defensive backs coach in 2015. He spent three seasons as the DB coach, then moved onto associate head coach in 2018, eventually taking over for the legendary Denny Douds. Terwilliger has won 45 games in his 6+ years in charge, with 56 All-PSAC selections and five All-Americans to his credit.

Lackawanna College football is back home on Saturday, October 3^rd, for another first-step in what the Falcons hope will be a heated rivalry with a nearby squad, as the Bloomsburg University Huskies come to Scranton for a first-ever match-up between the two sides. First kick is set for 1:00pm ET at PenFed Field at Scranton Memorial Stadium, and it'll be Homecoming 2026 for the Falcons.
