The Rams Were In Control Throughout In A Dominant Win At Home

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV – Lackawanna College women's soccer was pinned back for nearly the entire contest against Shepherd University on Saturday afternoon, as the Rams dominated in a 6-0 defeat of the Falcons at the Shepherd Soccer Complex at Shepherd University.
 
Shepherd (6-1-0) dominated the game, posting 38 shots, 16 on target, and holding the Falcons without a shot. Shepherd had 12 corners and forced ten saves from the Falcons.
 
The Rams scored in the fifth minute through Reagan Ackermann, a returning all-conference selection, then added goals in the 21st and 34th minutes to go ahead 3-0 at the break.
 
Shepherd added a fourth goal just 12 minutes into the second half, then scored a fifth through Merritt Delk, another all-conference selection last year, in the 60th minute. The Rams would put one more through in the 85th minute to round out the scoring.
 
Keeper Sophia Arvelo (Allentown, PA) had ten saves for the Falcons.
 
Lackawanna College is back to work on Wednesday, September 23rd, when the Falcons travel to East Stroudsburg to take on the ESU Warriors in another match-up with a PSAC East opponent. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm ET at Eiler-Martin Stadium in East Stroudsburg.
