SCRANTON, Pa. -- The twenty-ninth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2025-2026 school year is Lackawanna College baseball student-athlete
Mark Zuppo (Garnet Valley, PA)!
Mark was having a down season entering this week, but ended up breaking out, going a combined 7-for-14 (.500 BA) with two doubles, two home runs, and seven RBIs, while also scoring seven runs to help Lackawanna go 4-0. In the win at Monroe University on Tuesday, Zuppo had a double, an RBI, and a run scored. He followed that up with a career-type game against Delaware Tech CC on Friday, hitting a pair of home runs and driving in four runs in a 19-9 win for Lackawanna, while scoring four of his own. In two games at Del Tech on Saturday, he was a combined 3-for-7 with two runs, two RBIs, and a double to help the Falcons secure the sweep. Zuppo posted a 1.605 OPS, getting on base at a 0.533 clip. His batting average for the season went up 38 points to .223, the first time all season he's been above .200. Zuppo has three homers and 24 RBIs this season, and he's up to 31 runs on the year.
Mark is a sophomore student-athlete at Lackawanna College, majoring in General Studies, but pursuing a Sports Medicine and Business track. He will be a guest on a future episode of Falcons Corner, airing every Wednesday at 10am ET at lackawannafalcons.com/youtube.
The Falcons are back in action on Tuesday, April 21st, with a home doubleheader against Monroe CC at Scranton HS baseball field.
