SCRANTON, Pa. -- The nineteenth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2025-2026 school year is Lackawanna College men's wrestling student-athlete, Connor Ondek (Scranton, PA)!

Connor went 3-0 last week, taking two by pin and one by medical forfeit. Against Northampton, Ondek was leading late in the first period when a takedown injured his opponent and gave Ondek the medical forfeit win. On Saturday, he was one of only two Lackawanna wrestlers to take the mat twice, and he picked up a pair of wins by fall. Ondek won his first bout midway through the second period over Utica, then took a shorter time against Jamestown, winning in 1:40 to help the Falcons sweep. Ondek is now 10-5 after missing the first few weeks of the year due to an injury, and he has five pins this season. Connor is trying to qualify for nationals for the second-straight year.

Connor is a sophomore student-athlete at Lackawanna College, studying Professional Studies. He will be a guest on a future episode of Falcons Corner, airing every Wednesday at 10am ET at lackawannafalcons.com/youtube.

The wrestling squad is hosting the NJCAA Gulf Atlantic District Championships this Saturday, February 14th, at 10:00am ET inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium. The Falcons are looking to send multiple national qualifiers to the NJCAA Wrestling Championships slated for the first weekend in March in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
