SCRANTON, Pa. -- The sixth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2026-2027 school year is Lackawanna College men's soccer student-athlete Wisdom Afrani (Accra, Ghana)!

"Wizzy" has come close this season but he has never quite found his moment, but it finally came for him at home against East Stroudsburg this past Wednesday afternoon. With his team trailing 1-0 late in the contest, a deflected ball hit the feet of Afrani's teammate, Tito Tokunboh-Salako (Columbia, MD), who shuffled it to a streaking Wizzy near the top of the box. Afrani let it rip with a low shot, and the keeper couldn't get to it in time, as the shot pinged off the right post and tied the game in the 82nd minute. Afrani finished the game with two shots, one on target, and he followed that up with three shots, one on target, at Shippensburg, which ended in another 1-1 draw for the Falcons.

On the season, Wisdom has one goal and leads the Falcons with 15 attempts, five on frame. Wisdom is a fifth-year student-athlete, studying Human Services at Lackawanna College.

The Falcons are back to action against another PSAC East opponent on Wednesday, October 14th, when Bloomsburg visits Schautz Stadium in Dunmore for a 3:30pm ET kickoff.
