NEWTOWN, Pa. – Three different men's soccer players scored a goal, and Lackawanna College made it two in a row with a 3-0 win on the road at Bucks County CC in non-region action on Saturday afternoon in southeastern PA.
The Falcons (2-2-0) got goals from
Nahuel Minis (Old Forge, PA),
Manuel Bur (Spring, TX) and
Edwin Garces. Minis got the Falcons on the board at the half hour mark of the first half, heading home a loose ball to get the Falcons a 1-0 lead that they would take into the break.
Garces scored 13 minutes into the second half off an assist from
Micah Lawson (Allentown, PA). It's Garces' fourth goal in two games, and it gave the Falcons a 2-0 advantage.
Bur added the third goal later in the half, scoring unassisted. Keeper
Rupert Deniz (Dickinson, ND) had eight saves for the clean sheet, his first of the season.
Bucks (3-4-0) had six corner kicks and eight shots on target, but the Centurions couldn't penetrate the Lackawanna defense.
The Falcons have a pair of wins in a row, and will look to keep the train rolling with a contest on Tuesday, September 23
rd, away at Cecil College in North East, MD. Kickoff is set for 4:00pm ET at the Cecil College soccer field.
