Â
The Falcons (2-4, 1-0) had to overcome slow starts in all three sets, including comeback efforts in both sets two and three. However, it was the play of the pair of outsides for the Falcons,

Ciona Braziel (Fort Worth, TX) had nine kills and three block assists for the Falcons.
Â
Morris (0-2, 0-1) blew two separate slim leads in both the second and third sets. While Hofmann kept the Falcons afloat with her offense, Brown had a kill and back-to-back aces to push the Falcons in front at 18-16. They wouldn't look back from there, clinching on back-to-back aces from
Ellania Morales (Wharton, NJ) in set two. Set three saw Morris lose a 14-12 lead when Hofmann got a kill and an ace, followed by back-to-back Brown kills to get the Falcons ahead 16-14. It was a lead they wouldn't lose, with Braziel scoring two kills and a pair of block assists with Morales down the stretch, and Brown securing the win on her seventh kill of the set.
