SCRANTON, Pa. – A relentless defense from Mercer County CC was more than Lackawanna College women's basketball could manage, as the #22 ranked Mustangs blew past the Falcons, 100-36, in a Region XIX Division II contest on Tuesday evening inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium.

The Falcons (4-7, 2-4) trailed 36-4 after just one quarter of play, committing 13 turnovers that the visiting Mustangs (9-2, 5-1) turned into 27 points on turnovers, alone. In all, Lackawanna finished with 43 turnovers on the night, struggling to get the ball past the midcourt line against the Mercer pressure.

The Mustangs had 64 points off turnovers and outrebounded the Falcons by a 47-28 margin, with 21 offensive boards. Mercer shot 41.6% for the game and hit eleven three-pointers, putting five players in double-figures. Evangelina Francisco led the way with a game-high 27 points, while Qui-Mia Wilkins had 21 points and 14 rebounds, along with nine steals. Alexandra Garcia Gallen had 14 points, while Maya Alford added 13 points and Zaakirah Edwards had 12 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.

Lackawanna shot 27.5% for the game and went 2-for-17 from three-point range.
Ali Johns (North Wales, PA) scored 12 points and had seven rebounds, while
Alania Ortiz (Allentown, PA) added eleven points, seven rebounds, and six steals.

The Falcons will look to rebound with another region contest on Saturday, December 13
th, as Lackawanna travels to take on Salem CC. Tip-off is set for 1:00pm ET inside the DuPont Fieldhouse on campus in Carneys Point, NJ.
