WEST WINDSOR TWP., NJ – The #2 Mercer County CC Mustangs made quick work of Lackawanna College, taking a 5-0 lead into halftime on their way to an 8-0 win on Saturday afternoon in Region XIX Division II play at Mercer County CC's soccer field.
 
The Falcons (2-6-0, 0-3-0) didn't get much in the way of offense on the Mustangs, only placing a pair of shots on target. Keeper Rupert Deniz (Dickinson, ND) was kept busy on the other side of the field, stopping eleven shots.
 
The undefeated Mustangs (14-0-0, 4-0-0) scored four goals in the first 21 minutes of game play, then scored in the 33^rd minute on a header to go ahead 5-0 just over a half-hour in. They'd score two more goals after halftime, then add a third in the 85^th minute to end the game early via the eight-goal rule. Mercer had 19 shots on target and took ten corner kicks to Lackawanna's four.
 
The Falcons have one more regular season game left on the schedule, taking on Essex County College in the home finale on Saturday, October 18^th. Kickoff is set for 2:00pm ET at Schautz Stadium in Dunmore. The game is the second of a doubleheader, with the women's teams playing first at 12:00pm ET.
