WVB: Lehigh Carbon Bests Lackawanna In Five-Set EPAC Showdown

The Falcons Led 2-1 Through Three Sets, But Ultimately Couldn't Tame The Cougars

SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. -- Facing a tough road match-up, Lackawanna College women's volleyball held a 2-1 lead after a dominant third set, but the hosts at Lehigh Carbon CC roared back to take a five-set match (22-25, 25-21, 13-25, 28-26, 15-11) on Saturday afternoon in EPAC action.
 
The Falcons (10-4, 4-1) were dominant in the third set and came back from an early deficit in the fourth to hold a 22-20 lead, but the Cougars (9-1, 5-1) pushed in front late, then held on for the two-point victory to force a fifth and decisive set. From there, Lehigh Carbon grabbed the lead, and Lackawanna took it back at 8-7 when the sides switched. The Cougars were dominant from then on, however, building a steady lead and winning on a service ace at 15-11.
 
Lackawanna will look to bounce back on Wednesday, October 2nd, when the Falcons travel to take on Montgomery County CC. That match will start at 6:00pm ET in Blue Bell, PA.
