SPARTA, NJ --Â Lackawanna College football ran the ball 52 times to the tune of 264 yards in a rain-soaked, sloppy 43-18 victory on the road at Sussex County CC on Saturday afternoon in New Jersey.
Â
The #14 Falcons (3-2) got 111 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown from
Maurice Edwards (Mundelein, IL), and an extra 91 yards and two touchdowns from
Galamama Mulbah (Fairless Hills, PA) to lead the way on the ground. Lackawanna was clinging to a 21-18 lead in the second against a feisty Sussex (0-3), but the Falcons ran seven straight run plays, then threw a one-yard touchdown to
Michael Hodge (Richmond, VA) to make it 28-18. They'd add a crucial safety on a bad snap on a punt attempt and wouldn't be challenged again.
Â
The Falcons get back to work next Saturday, October 5
th, when they host the Monroe University Mustangs for Sophomore Day at Memorial Stadium in Scranton. Kickoff is set for 4:00pm ET.
