SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College baseball took a pair of games from an overmatched Luzerne County CC on Wednesday afternoon, winning 39-0 in five innings of game one, and 22-1 in five innings of game two at Scranton HS baseball field.

The Falcons (27-21) compiled 61 runs on 57 hits across two games, piling on runs in seven of the eight total innings that they got a chance to bat. Lackawanna had 29 extra base hits, including 22 doubles, and had 14 different players across two games record multiple hits.

In game one, the Falcons jumped out to a six-run lead and never looked back.
Cody Newhart (First Year; Sandpoint, ID) was 5-for-6 with six runs scored and nine RBI, hitting a triple and a pair of doubles, while
Aydan McNelly (Sophomore; Limerick, PA) went 4-for-5 with six RBI on a pair of doubles.
Chase Fischer (Sophomore; Ringoes, NJ) had four hits and three RBI, hitting three doubles and a triple, while the returning
Brayden D'Amico (Sophomore; Bethlehem, PA) had four hits and four RBI.
Michael Rickert (Sophomore; Moosic, PA) went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI, and
Jake Kelleher (First Year; Exeter, PA) was a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs scored and three RBI.
Gavin Pritchard (First Year; Pen Argyl, PA) went the distance, giving up just three hits and striking out five in five innings for the run-rule victory.

Luzerne (0-14) actually took the lead in game two, taking advantage of four street walks in the top of the first, scoring on a wild pitch with the bases loaded. That lead was to be short-lived, as the Falcons scored 12 in the first, and once again piled things on as the game went on. Newhart added two more hits and four RBI, while
Vincent Proietto (Sophomore; Drexel Hill, PA) was 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI, thanks to three doubles.
Kirk Stensrud (First Year; Glenside, PA) had two hits and five RBI, three coming on a three-run homer to left field, and
Logan Mote (Redshirt First Year; Branchburg, NJ) went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a triple, and two RBI. Fischer added three more RBI, D'Amico put up two more hits and scored two runs, and
Brooks Henderson IV (First Year; Feasterville, PA) added three hits, all doubles, with two runs scored.

The Falcons have now won seven straight, nine of their last eleven, and will wrap up their regular season with a doubleheader on the road at CCBC Essex on Friday, May 3
rd. First pitch of game one is at 1:00pm ET at the CCBC Essex Baseball Field in Rossville, MD.
