BASE: Lackawanna College Crushes Montco With Offensive Avalanche

The Falcons Hit The Front Early And Never Looked Back In A Dominant Victory

4/7/24

BLUE BELL, Pa. – Lackawanna College baseball never broke a sweat on Sunday afternoon, as the Falcons piled on nearly 30 runs on Montgomery County CC in a 28-9 victory in seven innings in southeastern PA.

The Falcons (13-15) had 22 hits, ten of which were for extra bases, drew 12 walks, and had six players with two or more hits on the day. Lackawanna had 12 runs in the first two innings, then dropped eight more in the fifth, before scoring eight more in the final two innings. The home side Mustangs (7-10) took advantage of 12 walks and three hit batters by the Lackawanna bullpen to score nine runs, but the scoring was not enough to catch the streaking Falcons.

Chase Fischer (Sophomore; Ringoes, NJ) and Aydan McNelly (Sophomore; Limerick, PA) each had two hits, with McNelly driving in four RBI. Logan Mote (First Year; Branchburg, NJ) had a pair of hits, both doubles, and two RBI, while Cody Newhart (First Year; Sandpoint, ID) scored two runs and drove in a team-high five RBI.
