SCRANTON, Pa. -- Congratulations to sophomore wrestler and student-athlete DYLAN HOGAN (Bushkill, PA), the seventeenth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2023-2024 scholastic year!  

Dylan wrestled what was probably the most exciting match of the evening during Sophomore Day last Friday in the Falcons' home bout with Bergen CC. With the Falcons ahead 15-6 through the first four bouts, Hogan was about to take on Cole Pfeufer from Bergen CC in the 165 lbs. match-up. What resulted was a great match that had some back-and-forth and saw both wrestlers go into the third period. With Pfeufer ahead 7-1 entering the final 30 seconds of the third, Hogan managed to reverse control. With Pfeufer draped on his back, Hogan staggered to his feet and flipped his opponent onto the mat, then quickly pounced to pin Pfeufer's shoulders to the mat and get the fall victory with 22 seconds remaining. The win gave Hogan his seventh win of the year, and gave the Falcons a crucial six points, lengthening their lead to an insurmountable 21-6 advantage and propelling them to a 36-12 victory over the Bulldogs. Hogan has 24 victories in his career at Lackawanna College, and is the reigning Region XIX and Gulf Atlantic District champion from last year. Hogan won a pair of matches last season in the NJCAA Wrestling Championship Tournament out in Council Bluffs, IA. 

Dylan is a sophomore student-athlete at Lackawanna College. He will be a guest on a future episode of Falcons Corner, which airs every week on the Lackawanna College Athletics YouTube.
