Nariyah Turner was three assists shy of a triple-double, capping a Sophomore Day celebration for Lackawanna College women's basketball in an 86-52 victory over Salem CC on Saturday afternoon in Region XIX DII women's basketball action at the Lackawanna College Student Union.

(Philadelphia, PA) is the only sophomore on the squad, and she showed out, scoring 15 points in the first half, finishing with 19, and putting up 13 rebounds and seven assists. The Falcons (10-11, 4-5) put four players in double-figures, scored 22 points off turnovers, and outrebounded the Mighty Oaks (9-12, 0-9) by a 76-47 margin. Lackawanna secured 32 offensive boards and outscored Salem 26-14 on second-chance points.

Jayla South (First Year; Long Pond, PA) led all scorers with 25 points and 16 rebounds, while
Saraiah Franklin (First Year; Philadelphia, PA) had 14 points and 15 boards, and
Desiree White (First Year; Carlisle, PA) put up eleven points and eight rebounds. The Falcons had 15 steals as a team, forcing 22 turnovers.

Carly Santimaw led the Mighty Oaks with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Kathryn Laurence added 14 points and six rebounds, and Maggie St. Clair put in ten points.

The Falcons have now won four straight games, their longest winning streak of the season, and head into the final week of the regular season sitting at fourth in the Region XIX DII standings. The Falcons would host a play-in game against the five-seed, if standings were to hold. Their next contest will be Tuesday, February 13
th, when the Falcons travel to take on Union County College in the final Region XIX DII regular season contest. Tip is scheduled for 6:30pm ET in Cranford, NJ.
