SCRANTON, Pa. – A rough shooting night doomed Lackawanna College women's basketball on Tuesday night, as the Falcons fell 90-55 to Montgomery College (MD) in non-region women's basketball action at the Lackawanna College Student Union.

The Falcons (6-8) shot just 26.2% all game, and went 3-for-27 from deep, falling behind by double-digits in the second quarter and never getting the margin closer than 16 the rest of the way. Montgomery (8-5) shot 39% for the game and was 22-for-27 from the free throw line, including a 13-for-16 effort in the second half. The visiting Raptors outrebounded the Falcons 65 to 50, which included 27 offensive boards, totaling in 26 second-chance points.

Lackawanna was led by
Jayla South (First Year; Long Pond, PA) and her team-high 15 points, coupled with eight rebounds.
Desiree White (First Year; Carlisle, PA) was held to just eight points, while
Saraiah Franklin (First Year; Philadelphia, PA) also had eight points, as well as 12 rebounds, and
Nariyah Turner (Sophomore; Philadelphia, PA) had eight points and four assists.

Montgomery put four players in double-figures, led by Litzy Lujan-Gonzales's 27 points and six assists. Talia Kouncar had 18 points and ten rebounds, and Athina Nkangnia had 14 points and 22 rebounds.

The Falcons will head back into Region XIX play on Tuesday, January 23
rd, when they are set to travel to Raritan Valley CC for a Region XIX Division II contest. That game will be the first of a doubleheader in Branchburg, NJ, and is set for a 5:00pm ET tip-off.
