SCRANTON, Pa. -- Lackawanna College women's volleyball fell in tri-match action on Saturday morning and afternoon at the Lackawanna Student Union in Scranton, PA, dropping the morning session to PSU Hazleton 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-12) and then the afternoon match with the College of Southern Maryland 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-18).
 
The Falcons (0-2) came out firing in the opening minutes against the Nittany Lions from Hazleton, taking an early lead, but PSU Hazleton slowly and surely whittled away Lackawanna to take the first set. Through the next two frames, the Nittany Lions pounced early and often, taking advantage of Lackawanna miscues and solid attacking to build a large lead and pull away for the win.
 
After taking a five-set thriller of PSU Hazleton in the second match of the day, the College of Southern Maryland came into the afternoon session with Lackawanna College with a head full of steam, blowing past the Falcons 25-10 in the first set. The next two sets were much tighter, as Lackawanna kept Southern Maryland close, but the mistakes hurt the Falcons, while the Hawks took advantage and pulled away.
 
Lackawanna College will look to bounce back when it hosts Harrisburg Area CC on Thursday, September 7^th at 6:00pm ET at the Lackawanna Student Union gymnasium.
