Box Score 2/18/23

RANDOLPH, NJ -- Needing a win on the road to sew up the second seed in Region XIX, the Lackawanna College men's basketball team gutted out a special 78-69 overtime victory on the road against County College of Morris on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons (17-9, 7-3) had three players in double-figures, and outscored the Titans 13-4 in the extra period. Aamir Mack (Atlantic City, NJ) had a season-and-career-high 38 points to lead the Falcons, including eight overtime points to seal it for Lackawanna. It's the most points a Falcons basketball player (men's or women's) has scored since Nya Morris had 40 points in February 2021. It's also the most points a men's player has scored since Tylek Williams had 51 points in January 2019.

Nasir Brown (Wilmington, DE) and Nashawn Johnson (Bronx, NY) added 12 and eleven points, respectively, as the Falcons earned the season sweep over the Titans and secured their spot as the #2 team in Region XIX Division II.

The Titans (13-10, 5-5) were led by Andres Moreno with 18 points, while Daniel Ovrabiere added 14 points and Jael Maldonado chipped in eleven.

Lackawanna College has one more regular season game left on its schedule, as the Falcons compete on the road on Sunday, February 19th, against SUNY Westchester. That game is set for a 3:00pm ET tip-off, and will be the second game of a doubleheader, with the women's teams competing first at 1:00pm ET. The Falcons then await their final official match-up in the Region XIX DII playoffs, set for Thursday, February 23rd.
